Everyone loves Taguella! It is the a bread, made in the hot ash of the bonfire and the hot sand of the Sahara. It must be turned once and gets nice and crunchy. Traditionally it is eaten with some some onion, tomato soup. Sometimes the Tuareg make the bread into small “Spätzle” as we call it in Bavaria.
The nice thing about Taguella, you only need flour, salt and water, sometimes a bit of camelfat. So ingediens can be taken on long journey without worrying that anything gets off or bad.
Second it gives a lot of energy after a long day walking with the camals, and more strengh for the following day including a good rest at night with a full tummy.
That is why everyone loves Taguella!
